VTID Career Fair (Virtual)

Virginia Tech's Industrial Design Advisory Board (IDAB) is teaming up with the VT's Washington-Alexandria Architecture Center (WAAC) to host a virtual career fair for current students. IDAB's portion of the career fair will be bringing together Virginia Tech Industrial Design (VTID) students with companies who are seeking talent in industrial design and/or user experience.

Online (Virtually)

We will be hosting the career fair using Gather Town. Similarly to an in-person experience, each company will be given its own (virtual) booth and students will be able to come up to each booth to interact with company representatives. We will provide each registered company with the link to the Gather Town space we will be using for the event. Registered companies will be given access to the space about 1 week early (to give you time to play around with the app).

What is Gather?​
Gather is an online app that enables the creation of customizable virtual spaces for events like conferences, career fairs, and more. When you navigate to our Gather link, you can quickly create your avatar and enter your name (which will be shown to others within our virtual space).
​
Should I navigate to the link before the event?
We recommend that you do. In these last couple years, we all know the unexpected issues that can arise in these virtual settings. Testing your video and audio out beforehand will likely help you avoid any problems day-of. The first time you set up your avatar, you'll even get a little tutorial to show you how to use Gather.
