Student Travel Award Application Details

The Student Travel Award is an annual financial award available to undergraduate students to assist with travel costs associated with immersive, experiential opportunities, whether domestic or global. This award is designed to remove financial barriers to these transformative learning experiences, supporting students as they engage in hands-on opportunities that enhance their personal, academic, and professional growth.
Award Overview
The Student Travel Award provides $2,000 in financial assistance to undergraduate students pursuing travel opportunities that will enhance their academic and professional development. The award is open to students seeking support for immersive experiences such as professional development events, design research, or other relevant travel opportunities. This award aims to help students remove financial barriers to these impactful experiences, advancing their career in design.​​
Application Process
To apply for the Student Travel Award, students must submit a letter explaining why they are seeking the award and the travel opportunity they are pursuing.​

Briefly describe the specific event or experience you are seeking to pursue, and explain how it aligns with your academic and professional goals.
Please keep in mind that we’re not asking for personal financial details here. IDAB will review your application with the Program Chair, who is familiar with your financial needs, to determine how we can best support you. So, don’t stress about sharing private financial information—this process is all about the opportunity you’re seeking and how it will impact your growth.
